Our Trustees come from a wide range of backgrounds and expertise and meet bi-monthly.
Current Trustees are:
Mark is a Director of a national engineering consultancy called Traffic Design Group (TDG). He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and brings his leadership, business and strategic capabilities to the future health, direction and endurance of the Trust.
Daniel J. Hill CA. Dan is a Chartered Accountant and Consultant working with entities from NZX-listed companies to small not-for-profits and local schools. He has previously been a big part of running Mount Maunganui Cricket and Sports Club and is currently also on the Board of Western Bay of Plenty Cricket.
Aaron C. H. Moores (Treasurer) Aaron is an Authorised Financial Adviser, working as an Investment Adviser for Craigs Investment Partners. He is currently serving his second term and is currently Chair on the Tauranga Primary School Board of Trustees. Aaron enjoys the outdoor lifestyle in Tauranga, where he lives with his wife and young family. In his free time, Aaron also enjoys a range of sports including golf and skiing.
Rosalie J. Smith-Frank Rosalie has been involved with the Deaf community for many years and has worked in the community based/disability sector for over 15 years as a leader and manager. Rosalie has also been involved with a Deaf Development program in Cambodia.
Angeline Slade NatDipHT, MHTANZ. Angeline has worked within the disability sector for over 20 years. Working for Life Unlimited for 13 years with 9 of those as a Hearing Therapist. She has a Diploma in Hearing Therapy, is an assessor for the Diploma and a member of the Hearing Therapist Association of New Zealand.
David A. Simpson. David is a Certified Management Consultant with 30 years experience advising a wide variety of entities from small owner managed businesses to large multi-national corporations, also government and local government organisations, on business strategy and financial management matters. He has participated at Board level with several listed companies.
Graeme, who is hearing impaired as a consequence of 20 years playing in bands before wearing hearing protection became commonplace, is the Community Relations Manager for a power company and has worked for the past 25 years in senior level Public and Community Relations and Communications Management roles. He is also a member of Waikato University Business School Business Advisory Board, is Chairman of a South Island Council owned property management company, and has held governance roles in a range of organisations. Graeme enjoys family time, music, walking and holidaying in a motorhome when his busy schedule allows.
John attends to all the day-to-day matters of the Trust’s function. He interviews the people who apply to the Trust for financial assistance and reports to the Trustees for decisions. John is semi-retired, has a background in banking and is involved in a local service club.
